Phil Hester Talks Invincible Universe

Guardians of the Globe was one of the best new ongoings of 2012. A year full to the brim with great new ongoings. The first ongoing spin-off of Robert Kirkman's long-running super hero series Invincible, Phil Hester and Todd Nauck took the premise of what Kirkman started and ran with it and in six short issues they went on for miles and miles of great stories and character moments. Now Guarding the Globe has ended and taking its place this April is Invincible Universe.

Invincible Universe #1 will be the new ongoing that takes a bigger look at th...

Sejic's Young Witchblade Needs To Be a Real Comic Now

I love Top Cow comics. Witchblade, The Darkness and Artifacts are some of the best Image titles out there and when looking through the back log of all the titles Image has published over 20 years now, that's saying a lot. And one thing I love about Top Cow is they know how to find and utilize great talent. Talent like Stjepan Sejic who has killed on Witchblade, Artifacts and is sure to kill on Aphrodite IX. Lately Sejic has been uploading some very interesting pieces of art online making me hope for what his next project will be...

Comic Book Rebel Reviews for 4/24/13

Welcome to the Avengers and X-Men edition of the Comic Book Rebel Reviews. Well, at least that is what my pull list looked like last week as we got New Avengers #5, Uncanny Avengers #7 and Uncanny X-Men #5. Not to be left out Guardians of the Galaxy #2 does sneak its way in, though it could be considered the Galactic Avengers book since Iron Man is on the team. In any case time to find out how these four big Marvel titles turned out.

Avengers #10 Review

Jonathan Hickman has made everything that has ever happened in the Marvel Universe fair game for his story and that is just fine with me. There have been a few odd issues in Hickman’s Avengers work but, overall, I have enjoyed where he is taking the franchise. With the cover for Avengers #10 featuring Omega Flight I have no idea what will happen next. With that said let’s find out.

Wonder Woman #19 Review

Wonder Woman #19 Review

Wonder Woman has been a series that when the New 52 started I didn’t think much of. That all changed with how well Brian Azzarello has been able to mix Greek Mythology with the modern day. The addition of the New Gods involvement in Wonder Woman’s adventures has added another intriguing element to the fold. So with all these worlds mixing together the question that is presented to us by the cover to Wonder Woman #19 is will Wonder Woman really cheat on Superman? The cover seems to imply this but will it happen. Let’s find out.

Avengers #9 Review

Jonathan Hickman has been building an epic story in Avengers. After the last issue saw Hickman integrating more concepts from the New Universe with the introduction of Starbrand I can’t wait to see what happens in Avengers #9. Things increasingly ramp up as the Avengers continue to be pushed back by this universe ending threat. I have no idea where the story will go next but I’m excited to find out. So let’s see what happens next with this review of Avengers #9.
