Written by Rokk

This is the debut column of my weekly round-up of the comic books that populate my pull-list.  I will rank them in descending order and give you my final verdict for each issue.  This past week was a rather average week with very few issues actually garnering high scores.

Darkwing Duck #3 Review PDF Print E-mail
Written by Brandon

DarkwingDuck_03_rev_Page_01Readers of the Revolution may have noticed my affinity for the old Disney Afternoon lineup of cartoons. Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, and TaleSpin were some of my favorite shows. All of the pale in comparison to my favorite cartoon growing up: Darkwing Duck. I put it right up there with Batman: The Animated Series, and Darkwing was probably my favorite superhero as a kid. The first two issues of the Darkwing Duck comic were great, and even managed to outshine the show in many ways. How does the third issue rate? Hit the jump to find out.

(I'd like to thank BOOM! for hooking us up with this advance copy.)

Hellboy: The Storm #1 review PDF Print E-mail
Labels: Hellboy
Written by William

Hellboy_The_Storm_1_000After the devilishly talented Mike Mignola stopped drawing his paranormal horror series Hellboy, I kind of lost interest in the title. I mean, his stories were always good and all, but without the accompaniment of his iconic, chiaroscuro-influenced artwork I really had no reason to read it. However, with the release of The Storm #1, I saw the previews and it looked good. Mignola has always surprised me in the past; let’s see if he can’t make me jump back on the Hellboy bandwagon. Hit the read more button to see what Mignola’s latest comic has to offer you.

A terrible storm is brewing, bodies are missing from their tombs, and the forces of darkness gather against Hellboy for a final bloody showdown. Mignola and Fegredo reunite for the final arc of the bestselling saga that includes Darkness Calls and The Wild Hunt.
